Where is the Center for Anthroposophy?

The administrative offices of the Center for Anthroposophy are located in Wilton’s original town hall building, which the Center purchased in July 2008.  The oldest surviving edifice on Main Street, the building also includes The Color Shop & More, a store for arts supplies, books, Waldorf toys, and other merchandize related to Waldorf education.
The basement houses the Cadmus Library, a private holding of books and and magazines related to anthroposophy and Waldorf education, including some rare and out-of-print manuscripts. Contact the CfA office for details of library hours and lending policies.
The Center’s summer programs continue to be housed on the adjacent campuses of High Mowing School and Pine Hill Waldorf School on Abbot Hill, just over two miles from the Wilton town center. Foundation Studies courses are taught during the school year in clusters across North America, mostly on the sites of local Waldorf schools.

Where is Wilton New Hampshire?

Nestled within rolling hills in southern New Hampshire, Wilton is semi-rural with many farms and a downtown “village” situated along the Souhegan River and a local railroad line. Downtown establishments include several restaurants, antique stores, a store for casual clothing and magazines (with an honest-to-goodness penny candy counter), art supply store, small grocery, a candy factory, and two cafes that sponsor “open mike” nights along with local entertainers. There is also The Wilton Town Hall Theater, an independent movie house that shows art films and classics as well as popular movies of the day. Nearby, the local library, an architectural treasure, is worth visiting just to see its floors and ceilings.
Downtown Wilton can easily be navigated on foot. The surrounding countryside makes for interesting, although somewhat challenging biking because of the hilly terrain. However, the most practical way to get around is by car due to lack of public transit.
Day hiking around Wilton can include the local reservoir and waterfall or, for great views, a trip up Pack Monadnock just to the west. There are also several areas of woodland conservation within Wilton or nearby Peterborough for hiking.
