Welcome back to the forthcoming summer session of the Waldorf High School Teacher  Education Program! I will be eager to hear more at firsthand how you have fared during this  extraordinary past year and how your independent studies are progressing.  

In preparation for our summer program, I am once again calling for your help: please make sure you carefully read all advance materials and promptly return required forms, such as the sign-off sheet to the student handbook (in the password-protected page for returning students:  https://centerforanthroposophy.org/programs/waldorf-high-school-teacher-education/returning 2nd-3rd-year-students/ ), and ensure you are up to date in your tuition payments. At each step of the way––whether filling out these forms or joining us in good time for the re-orientation gathering on the first day of our summer program––the success of the group will wax or wane according to the responsiveness of each individual.  

As you know, we will hold a single session of Pro Sem II & Pro Sem III online on Friday, July 12: 10:00- 11:30: Professional Seminar III (David B) & 1:30- 3:00: Professional Seminar II (Paul). 

To the members of the Class of 2025 joining us for the first time this summer, you are warmly invited (and advised) to join the three online sessions we are holding to introduce our new folks to the Human Development course and the subject seminars. 

Please see the attached schedule for live classes and online classes (including a link to join the online sessions). 

Tuition needs either to have been paid in full or a payment plan established with Milan Daler,  Administrator of the Center for Anthroposophy, before you resume your studies with us this summer. 

The major study text this summer, as you know, will be Rudolf Steiner’s First Teachers’  Course/Anthropological Foundations (previously known as Foundations of Human Experience or Study of Man), in addition to supplementary readings for the subject seminar and artistic ateliers as outlined in the course syllabi of last summer. Please remember: It is your responsibility to secure prior to arrival all required books for summer courses. Required articles not listed in the syllabi will be available on the first day of classes. It is also required that students read all assigned books as indicated on the reading list––including those for your subject seminar––before the start of the summer session. For individual subject seminar assignments, 

including possible presentation of projects arising from your year of independent study, please consult your independent study mentor. 

The in-person portion of this summer’s training program ends with our closing graduation ceremony on Sunday July 28, starting at 10:30 a.m.; the culminating “demonstration evening” of artistic offerings from all our summer cohorts will take place the previous evening, on Saturday  July 27. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly! Family members are warmly invited to both of these events. Please note that all other functions––including the Convocation of all  teacher training programs on Sunday July 14 are for enrolled students only.
