For Entering First Year Students Only

Dear Entering Students: 

In preparation for our first summer session together, I need to call on you for your  help: namely, to be sure that you read all advance assignments carefully and return all  forms and payments promptly. At each step of the way — whether in filling out any  remaining forms or arriving here in good time for our opening session the success of  the group will wax or wane according to the responsiveness of individuals. 

We will hold three online sessions together Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, July  9, 10 & 11 beginning at 10:00 am ET.  

• 10:00- 11:15 Human Development with David B (includes

• 11:30- 12:15 Speech as a Practical Tool with Debbie Spitulnik 
• 12:15- 1:00 Lunch break 
• 1:00- 2:15 Subject Seminar: English with David S ~ Math with Marisha ~  Arts with Michal  
• 2:30- 3:45 Subject Seminar: History with Paul ~ Physics & Chemistry with  Cedar 
• 4:00- 5:15 Subject Seminar: Life Sciences with Michael 

In preparation for our first session together on the Tuesday, I would be grateful if  each of you would be prepared to speak for 5-7 minutes to the question: 

What have been the most important formative moments and events along your life’s path that have led you to this inaugural moment? 

Live classes in Wilton begin on Sunday, July 14 at 8:30 am with the Convocation  along with the Antioch University Waldorf Teacher Education Program students. Dorms are open Saturday, July 13 and there will be dinner on Saturday night for those who have signed up.  

Please examine carefully the reading lists for your academic courses, found in the  syllabi online. Please remember: It is your responsibility to secure, prior to arrival, all required books for summer courses. “Required articles” can be found online in the password-protected section for entering students on the high school page of CfA’s website:  https://centerforanthroposophy.org/programs/waldorf-high-school-teacher education/for-entering-first-year-students-only/ (password listed below). It is also 

required that students read all assigned books as indicated on the reading lists — including those for your subject seminar — before the start of the summer session. In  addition, you should bring eurythmy slippers (found online) and loose cotton clothing for the eurythmy course. 

As you may already know, your families are warmly invited to join us for two special  events that will bring together all of the Waldorf teacher education programs this  summer — early childhood, elementary, and high school. One is a demonstration  evening of student offerings on Saturday July 27 starting at 7:00 p.m. with open  gallery; the other is the closing graduation ceremony the following day on Sunday  July 28, starting at 10:30 a.m. Please remember that all other functions — including the opening convocation ceremony of all Waldorf program participants on the morning of Sunday, July 14 — are for enrolled students only.
